Cannes

Founded in 1997 at the foot of a hill that served as a lookout post on the Seigniory of Rodoard, Cannes started out as a small fishing harbour overrun with reeds. It was called "Portu Canuae" and faced the Lérins Islands, known since Antiquity under the names of Léro and Lérina. In 999, one year before the awful Year One Thousand, a fortress was constructed, the "Castrum Marcellus", ancestor of the current Suquet.
